Default Derv..or warrior?

Hey all...my question is that which one is better...more useful to play..I mean that, which are wanted more, and better for H/H'ing and general PvE? And why?

Warrior, more versatility, higher survival. If you simply want to use the scythe check the Endurance Scythe warrior build, as some really nice damage numbers.

They can hit some large numbers if you use the right PvE skills but they are paper cannons and will die very quickly in farther PvE and HM if not properly healed/protted and proper pulling.

well, considering Dervish is perhaps the most underused class atm I'd say Warrior. the higher armor rating and the ability to use Scythes effectively on other melee chars(Sins, Rangers and Wars) makes the Dervish pretty pointless cause neither Mysticism nor the Avatars are good enough to justify an otherwise sub par class.

now, that's not to say Dervishes completely suck, not at all. infact they can do pretty well, [wounding strike] is still effective in PvP even though [warrior's endurance] pretty much out classes it. it can also farm pretty well with 130 Derv that can farm all places 55s and stuff can, as well as solo FoW and UW with either [vow of silence] or [avatar of balthazar]/[avatar of dwayna] builds.

but still, if you must choose 1 I'd say Warrior...

I use both. Choose what is more fun for you. I tend to find my warrior fairly boring, but the recent buff to [hundred blades] has made the warrior very capable for some farming that the scythe was once more suited for.

Armor is an issue for dervs, though windwalker insignias can make a big difference for those that aren't afraid to put away those survivor insignias.

PvE dervish has more options for builds that do running, with mysticism-based skills like [[Vow of Silence] and [[Avatar of Balthazar]. Dervish also has +4 energy regen., vs. +2 for warrior, so that opens up other farming options.

PvE warrior has [[Save Yourselves!], and strength-based skills like [[Enraging Charge], [[Flail], [[Warrior's Endurance], and [[Dolyak Signet].

Still warrior. [warrior's endurance] + [aura of holy might] coupled with the the strenght atribute can do more damage on it's own than the derv, and with +3 energy coming in on every hit, you can spam skills on recharge. That is if you really want the scythe. There's other options, axe in pvp especially is very usefull, in PvE [earth shaker] is god's gift. There's also some other stuff like the dragon slash god mode, etc.

Warrior is just better overall. I have both, and after spending a lot of time with my derv and finishing all campaigns I had to go back to the warrior, it was simply more efficient and allowed me to take on different playstyles.

I find Warrior to be extremely boring and Dervish to be a lot more fun and much more flexible and versatile a profession, myself.

warrior is better unless you want to use an avatar for some reason.
more armor, better at scythes with [[warrior's endurance], they can run [[earth shaker] without being some shitter derv-with-a-hammer, they can run [[dragon slash] and [[save yourselves] without being some shitter derv-with-a-sword.
and if you ever want to pvp with a pve character (chaos gloves to let everyone know who's the alpha male) you'll have a warrior instead of a shitty useless derv.

Something no one has mentioned, a warrior with a spear can be quite a fun alternative.

So yeah, if you're looking for versatility, warrior is the way to go. Dervs have better energy management by default though, and can get pretty broken with a little help.

Its simple:

Warrior: do you prefer a tank, with the ability to cause high damage. or...

Dervish: a holy warrior that can plow (forgive the pun) and, with the right enchants used, can take and re-deal high damage.

i'm pretty sure warriors don't need to tank in this day and age. just go big domoge and punch things through.

to OP:
the dervish was made by taking a derivative warrior build (mending wammo) and then buffing its offensive and defensive power into the ionosphere. they are great for dealing consistent big (actually, huge) damage, and with the right setup, take a ton of damage. they are very good for general pve, because all the other important functions (healing, protting, disruption etc) can be easily handled by heroes/hench, leaving the player the easy task of running to a clump of monsters and blowing them up with an overpowered weapon.

warriors do not have the same damage output and defensive abilities as a properly built dervish, at least on paper. however, warriors have things that dervishes do not have, such as powerful disruption through interrupts and knockdowns, and the freedom to carry extra utility because they don't need to spend 3 slots on defensive buffs. for these reasons, warriors are the preferred frontline damage dealers in higher level pvp.

Don't feel bad about it. I finished all campaigns, spent ~300k wich was all the money I had at the time on my derv's elite armor, weapons and every derv skill in the game. Less than a week after, I changed back to my warrior.

Oh no, i just justified dervishesssss. You can get constant 85 AR to say the least without enchantments from teammates and 600hp while potentially attacking 3 foes at once. make sure to wear vampiric for the lulz

Fine, except for the fact that only in niche situations will Dervishes consistently outperform another frontline character in terms of survivability or damage. Is it possible? Sure. Do Dervs have some good builds? Absolutely. But consistently speaking, a Warrior or Sin will pump out more damage and a Warrior is easily more durable.
